Audience at the Palace: A Virtual Journey into the Baroque Era

We developed “Audienz im Schloss Eine virtuelle Zeitreise ins Barock
| Audience at the Palace: A Virtual Journey into the Baroque Era” an immersive experience at the Badisches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe. Starting April 19, 2019, visitors can explore the historical transformations of the Marble Hall through a six-minute 360° VR film, accessible via VR headsets.

The experience transports visitors to three pivotal periods of the Marble Hall: its Baroque grandeur, its ruin after World War II, and its modern restoration. Renowned opera singer Annette Postel guides visitors as a legendary Tulip Girl, sharing fascinating anecdotes about the palace and its residents.

We utilized historical photographs and contemporary reports to create a detailed 3D model. The 360° panorama, enhanced by filming a real actress against a greenscreen, offers an authentic depiction of the Marble Hall across its different eras.

This virtual journey aligns with the museum’s digital strategy, providing an engaging way for visitors to experience the former splendor of the Baroque palace.
