Wold-Saga 1 (Welten-Saga 1)
A Journey to UNESCO World Heritage Sites
(Eine Reise zu den UNESCO-Welterbestätten)

For the first season of the documentary series “Welten-Saga,” we developed detailed 3D animations for ZDF in collaboration with Interscience film. This six-episode series takes viewers to fascinating UNESCO World Heritage sites, vividly bringing their histories to life.

Working closely with scientists and based on the latest archaeological and geological data, we created precise virtual reconstructions. Our animations utilize advanced technology, including laser scans, to accurately depict these impressive cultural and natural landmarks.

Hosted by Sir Christopher Clark, “Welten-Saga” explores both well-known and lesser-known sites of historical and cultural significance. The project highlights the crucial work of UNESCO, showcasing the challenges and strategies involved in preserving world heritage and raising awareness about the importance of protecting these valuable sites.

Among the reconstructions featured in the series are the Taj Mahal, where we captured the architectural splendor and intricate details of this iconic mausoleum, and Persepolis, where we brought to life the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire with its grand palaces and intricate reliefs. Additionally, we depicted Paris through various historical periods, including its Celtic origins, the Roman era, the Middle Ages, and the 19th century. The series also includes detailed reconstructions of the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque, highlighting its significance as a Maya funerary monument, Elephanta, showcasing the intricate cave temples, and Tenochtitlan, bringing to life the Aztec capital at the height of its glory.

These reconstructions offer viewers an immersive experience, allowing them to explore the rich history and cultural significance of these extraordinary sites.
