Ungelöste Fälle der Archäologie
Unsolved Cases of Archaeology

We had the privilege of developing the 3D animations for the documentary series “Ungelöste Fälle der Archäologie | Unsolved Cases of Archaeology” produced by Peter Prestel Filmproduktion for ZDF from 2018 to 2023. This documentary series, presented by Harald Lesch, explores the mysteries surrounding ancient artifacts and constructions that continue to baffle researchers and historians. Our team was able to define a schematic style for the animations, bringing clarity and depth to the visual storytelling, and helping viewers engage with the historical enigmas presented in the show.

Throughout five seasons, the series delved into a variety of archaeological puzzles, from lost knowledge and techniques to mysterious messages and monumental constructions. Each episode incorporated new excavations and current research findings, offering fresh insights into the astonishing achievements of ancient civilizations. Our visual expertise supported the narrative by providing detailed and immersive reconstructions, enhancing the storytelling and aiding in the quest to decode these historical enigmas.
