Die Superbauten
Giant Buildings

For the ZDF documentary “Die Superbauten | Giant Buildings  ” we created detailed 3D animations to illustrate the grandeur and complex histories of two of Germany’s most iconic structures: the Cologne Cathedral and the Dresden Frauenkirche. These architectural marvels are rich in history and cultural significance.

The Cologne Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, took centuries to complete, reflecting a profound commitment and evolving styles. Our 3D animations highlight its construction phases and the challenges faced by its builders.

The Dresden Frauenkirche, destroyed during World War II and meticulously rebuilt, stands as a symbol of resilience and historical continuity. We showcased its various construction stages and the reconstruction process, bringing to life the bustling activity of the construction site.

Despite their global fame, these buildings harbor many untold stories. Our animations uncover these hidden aspects, showcasing their art historical value, architectural innovations, and the personal stories of those who built them.

This project exemplifies our dedication to using advanced technology to make historical narratives accessible and engaging, bringing the fascinating stories behind these superb buildings to life for viewers.
