An interactive Mixed Reality experience that begins in the depths of the Colosseum and rises into the roar of the arena — told entirely through the thoughts of a nameless Germanic slave.

The Story

Rome, 192 AD

Beneath the Colosseum lies its darker half — the hypogeum, the ruthless machinery that feeds the spectacle above, where a young slave from the far north tends the animals bound for Emperor Commodus' games.

You rise with him through frozen moments, his thoughts your only guide — up out of the dark, through the vast halls, into the splendour of an empire at the height of its power: the wild crowd, the gilded pomp of the games, the emperor himself in his lion's hide — until the spectacle turns …

Years later, the same man stands beneath the Colossus, and sets it all down.

Reconstructed

No source records this man. He is built from what the archaeology and the written evidence allow about the people who worked beneath the arena. Where the evidence ends, we say so rather than inventing an answer.

The Experience

One continuous journey. No controllers.

mOment is a single-player Mixed Reality experience for standalone headsets — one continuous journey carried by gaze and hand. Your attention is what moves the young slave forward: look at the frozen figures of Rome and their thoughts surface; small, deliberate actions along the way help him through his day and open the next moment. You are never a spectator — you accompany him.

The linear Story Mode runs close to an hour and, on completion, unlocks a free Explore Mode — around an hour and a half in all.

A World Reconstructed

Fidelity that has not existed on standalone before

For over a decade, Faber Courtial has reconstructed historical worlds for film and museum at the highest level of visual fidelity. mOment brings that craft to standalone hardware — richly detailed, densely populated with people and animals, and unmatched on a standalone headset. Every space, from the hypogeum to the arena, is built to be inhabited, not merely observed.

The Series

One series. Many moments.

mOment is conceived as a series — each episode a single pivotal place and time, frozen for you to step inside. Episode One takes you to Rome, 192 AD. Further episodes are envisioned, among them Athens and the Acropolis and Egypt's Valley of the Kings — the same craft and fidelity, new worlds to inhabit.

The Studio

Faber Courtial

An animation and visualisation studio based in Germany, with over ten years in XR. Our award-winning immersive films — 1st Step and 2nd Step, on humankind's missions in space, and GENESIS, on the history of Earth, all now in 8K — have been selected by Venice Immersive, Cannes, Tribeca and SXSW. With mOment, we bring that same emotional depth and craftsmanship into interactive XR.

For Platforms & Partners

mOment is built to show what a modern XR headset can do: Mixed Reality, eye- and hand-tracking, and a level of visual fidelity that makes a device's quality immediately visible. We're speaking with hardware makers, platforms, partners and investors about launches, showcases, collaborations and investment. If premium, emotionally resonant content is part of your roadmap, we'd love to talk.
